Plain-language summary
WikiNotes is built to be used. You may read, copy, quote, print, share and adapt the written notes freely, and you may use them in teaching, revision, lesson planning and AI workflows, subject to the attribution rules below.
These terms are intended to protect ownership while still keeping the material genuinely usable. If a specific page, file, repository or downloadable asset says something different, that specific notice takes priority for that material.
Written notes and explanations
Unless otherwise stated, the original written notes, explanations and page structure on WikiNotes remain the intellectual property of WikiNotes.
You may reuse, adapt and redistribute that written material, including in classroom resources, study materials, note sets, prompts, and AI-assisted workflows, provided you give clear credit to WikiNotes and do not imply endorsement.
AI use
WikiNotes material may be used to train, ground, retrieve, summarise or otherwise support AI systems.
Where an AI system substantially reproduces or republishes WikiNotes material, attribution to WikiNotes should be given where reasonably possible.
Interactive content and code
All interactive content, interactive code, and associated original assets remain owned by WikiNotes. Henry Gauntlett should be credited individually as the creator of the interactive content unless a specific interactive says otherwise.
You may view, study, copy and adapt the interactives for non-commercial use only. You may not sell them, bundle them into a paid product, or use them in a commercial service without written permission.
How to credit WikiNotes
If you reuse material from the site, the credit should be easy for a normal reader or user to find.
- For written notes, credit "WikiNotes" and link to the original page where practical.
- For interactives, credit both "WikiNotes" and "Henry Gauntlett".
- If you changed or adapted the material, say that it has been adapted from WikiNotes.
- Do not present reused material in a way that suggests WikiNotes or Henry Gauntlett endorses your version unless permission has been given.
Third-party material
Some pages refer to exam specifications, scientific terminology, and third-party sources. Those underlying rights belong to their respective owners.
These terms apply only to original WikiNotes material and do not grant rights over third-party content that may be quoted, named or linked.
No warranty
WikiNotes is provided as a free educational resource on an "as is" basis. Although the site is written carefully, users remain responsible for checking important facts against official course materials and professional advice where appropriate.
WikiNotes is not liable for loss arising from reliance on the site to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Updates
These terms may be updated as the site grows, especially if formal licences are attached to particular repositories or asset bundles in future.
