Privacy

A short privacy notice for WikiNotes covering direct data collection, technical logs, browser-side storage, and how the notice should expand if the site adds analytics or accounts.

At a glance

WikiNotes is designed to be usable without an account, login, paywall or on-site form.

At the moment, WikiNotes does not ask users to create accounts or submit personal information in order to read the site.

Information you give directly

At present, WikiNotes does not collect personal information directly through account creation, comments, newsletters, student profiles or site registration.

Technical data and hosting

Like most websites, the servers and infrastructure that deliver WikiNotes may process basic technical data such as IP address, browser details, timestamps and requested URLs in order to serve pages, keep the site secure and diagnose technical problems.

Any such processing is incidental to operating the site and is not currently used by WikiNotes to build advertising profiles or student accounts.

Browser storage and site preferences

WikiNotes pages use browser-side storage for basic site behaviour and preferences, such as theme or interface state. This is part of the underlying site software rather than a user account system.

No advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies are intentionally added by WikiNotes at this stage. If that changes, this page should be updated and any extra notice or consent mechanism added where required.

WikiNotes links to third-party websites and sources. Those websites handle privacy under their own terms and notices.

Changes to this notice

If WikiNotes later adds analytics, email sign-up, contact forms, logins, payments, or embedded third-party services, this privacy page should be expanded before or at the point those features go live.
