Mammalian Heart

Use this interactive as a schematic blueprint of the heart so the four chambers, major vessels and direction of blood flow stay clear in one view.

What This Diagram Does Not Show

  • This is a simplified schematic, not an anatomically accurate picture of the full shape, scale or proportions of a real heart.
  • Different textbook and exam diagrams often draw the same heart layout differently, so the point is to recognise the same plan in unfamiliar diagrams rather than memorise one exact drawing.
  • The valve flaps are shown only to make one-way flow clearer. The main revision job here is the route taken by blood and the thicker wall of the left ventricle.
