Development of Practical Skills in Biology

This module is assessed through the written AS papers. It does not create a separate AS practical endorsement, but it defines the practical thinking students must apply across the course.

Core Role

  • Embed practical reasoning across all other biology content.
  • Prepare students for practical questions, data handling and method critique in both AS papers.
  • Supply the shared practical language used throughout modules 2 to 4.

Each Module 1 topic page now opens with a learner-facing What You Need to Learn section. Use these links to move from the assessed practical skill to the sections that teach the underlying reasoning.
