Meiosis¶

Use this interactive to step through meiosis I and meiosis II so reduction division, crossing over, homologous chromosome separation, and sister chromatid separation stay distinct.

This is a simplified teaching model. It only shows two homologous pairs and is not to scale, so it cannot show the full scale of independent assortment across all 23 pairs in humans or the full variety of chromosome and chromatid combinations produced across meiosis.
