Enzyme active-site models¶

Step through lock-and-key and induced-fit models to compare specific substrate binding, complementary active sites, temporary bond formation, and product release.

This is a simplified 2D teaching model. Real enzymes are complex globular proteins with three-dimensional active sites that occupy only a small region of the whole protein.
